Don't Stop Believing

loveukurt:

So tumblr change their “read more” code, from <!— more —> to [[more]*]. Which works fine on the dash but not on your blog.

To fix this, before you publish your post: Instead of clicking the “insert a read more break” button, open the html editor and add <!— more —> where you want the break and click the update button.

Here’s a tip for the do-it-yourself crowd:
Go to your computer’s Start menu, and either go to
“run” or just search for “cmd.”
Open it up, and type in “ping [website address],”

Once you have the IP for a website, all you really
need to do is enter it like you would
a normal URL nd hit enter/press go. Typing in
“208.85.240.231”
should bring you to the front page of AO3,
for example, just as typing “174.121.194.34/dashboard”
should bring you straight to your Tumblr dashboard.
Since we’re obviously bracing for the worst case scenario
which would involve you not being
able to access the internet regularly, you should,
save this list.

Dear Tumblr-ers, -ites, ettes, and whatever other things you may prefer,

Please reblog the crap out of this. Add to it if you feel there is stuff necessary but missing.

P.S. Thank you to the lovely who wrote this up.

Things Tumblr needs: unlimited asks, +500kb gif size, more photosets layouts, chance to tag hyphens, chance to USE hyphens in urls without tricks, replies notifications, instant messaging, option to know when someone's online
Things Karp gives us: fanmail

hummytheson:

There should be an option to hand write for people with tablets.

Well, it’s nice to see you again, dashboard.

Well, it’s nice to see you again, dashboard.

The awkward moment when someone asks you the question “what is Tumblr?”

rememberhowtofly:

And you’re just like “ummm, it’s kinda… it’s kinda like um u know where you can well um err well I…”

Photobucket

Just say: “It’s a bad place. Real bad. Don’t go there. Don’t.”

Don’t Facebook your problems… Tumblr them. You know why? ‘Cause on FB everyone thinks you just want attention. On Tumblr; we all understand<3

dopeshitefestinmybrain:

THIS !

We just talked about a fb-suicide today at school. A woman posted on her fb wall, that she took all her pills, would die soon and said good bye to everyone.

She died because “her friends” ignored it/thought she just wanted attention/was joking. This wouldn’t happen on tumblr. As soon as someone says he/she wants to commit suicide, their posts get reblogged/screenshoted and posted and friends/followers get informed.

My British teacher said Germans have the highest attention span…

gleekydisneykid:

clearly he doesn’t know me…

Clearly he doesn’t know tumblr.

You know what Tumblr should let us do?

giantsquidofawesome:

Let us search two tags at the same time.

What if I wanted to see posts tagged with “Kurt Hummel” and “Prom Queen”? I wouldn’t go through the entire Kurt tag to find one, and the Prom Queen tag is probably irrelevant things and other characters from the episode.

Add this to the list of things that Tumblr needs to do.
